01 — The wax

One wax, and a wick.

Each taper is beeswax all the way through. It is not blended with paraffin or soy, and nothing goes in for scent or colour. The gold is the wax's own, so one pair can be a shade lighter or deeper than the next.

  • 100% beeswax. No paraffin, no soy.
  • No fragrance oils and no essential oils.
  • No dye. The colour is the wax.
  • Cotton wick.

02 — The shop

Three lengths, sold in pairs.

Every taper has the same 7/8 inch base, the size a standard taper holder takes. The drawings share one scale, so the lengths compare across the row. Prices are in US dollars. When checkout is available, you can choose a quantity and provide a US shipping address.

03 — Unscented

Unscented means nothing was added.

Beeswax has a faint honey smell of its own. You notice it most on a new, unlit candle. That is the wax, not a fragrance. If you need a candle with no smell at all, beeswax is the wrong candle, and it is better to know that before you order.

Left alone, pure beeswax also grows a pale, powdery film called bloom. It is normal. It wipes off with a soft cloth.

The pale film is bloom. It wipes off.

04 — Burning them

Four habits for a clean burn.

  1. Seat it upright

Press the taper firmly into the holder. A candle that leans will drip down its low side.

  2. Trim the wick

Keep it near a quarter inch, and trim it again before each lighting.

  3. Keep it out of a draft

Moving air pushes the flame to one side. Any taper burns unevenly in a draft.

  4. Stay with it

Never leave a burning candle alone. Keep it clear of anything that can catch, and away from children and pets.
